Client’s Requirement
The client had an existing website for selling event tickets and wanted a complete overhaul. Their goal was to create a fresh, modern user interface while also introducing powerful new features. They asked for a ticket reselling system and a new way for hosts to publish “experiences,” similar to Airbnb. A key part of the project was building a user-friendly dashboard to easily manage events, generate reports, handle user accounts, and create gift cards and offers. Ultimately, they wanted to build a single, seamless platform that could serve professional event companies, affiliated ticket sellers, and even individual users looking to host their own events.
What I did
Our process began with a detailed competitive analysis, studying platforms like SeatGeek and Eventbrite to benchmark key features. We also researched Airbnb’s user experience to understand how to seamlessly allow users to be both Traveler and hosts from the same account. The next phase involved deep user research; by interviewing frontline staff who interact with customers and organisers daily, we gathered critical insights into their primary pain points. We then held multiple meetings with the project’s key stakeholders to drill down into their business requirements, carefully balancing these goals with the users’ needs. This comprehensive approach enabled us to deliver a user-friendly, human-centric software solution that solved the core problems for the business and its customers.
