Wavespot
Client’s Requirement
Wavespot was developing a SaaS application similar to Salesforce, specifically focused on digital campaign management. They asked me to follow Salesforce’s approach closely, analyze their methods, and then conduct my own research to provide additional insights. My primary goal was to review the client’s specifications, perform thorough research, and map out the user flow. Following this, I began the preliminary design phase.
What I did
This project provided an excellent learning opportunity for me. I had never previously worked on something of this nature and initially wasn’t very familiar with high-level digital marketing operations. To get started, I immersed myself in extensive research, including studying numerous Salesforce tutorials on YouTube to understand its features and implementation thoroughly. I also explored and tested various email marketing platforms such as MailChimp, Campaign Monitor, and Litmus, and conducted interviews with regular users to gain deeper insights. Additionally, the client offered substantial support, leveraging his extensive experience with these tools to highlight their strengths and weaknesses.
Following this initial research, I crafted user flows for several key functionalities, then progressed to creating low-fidelity wireframes to validate my approach with the client. Once the client approved these wireframes, I moved on to developing high-fidelity designs. I began with simpler screens and gradually tackled the more complex aspects of the application.
Overall, the project represented a significant growth opportunity for me as a designer, enabling me to explore new areas and enhance my skills. The client was very satisfied with the final outcome, and I was equally excited about the valuable knowledge and experience I gained.
